A live solo-acoustic set from Urban Orangutan, which took place in June 2017, around the time when the Great Apes disbanded. A time of transition in multiple respects: This was his final performance at Rec Room, once the favored venue of alternative musicians in Hanoi, before the place was shut down. This was also his first solo gig following a motorbike accident that injured his right hand, which was still recovering full mobility.

The show was played on an undersized acoustic guitar, an inexpensive travel model made by Harley Benton which Urban Orangutan had recently acquired, marking a pivot from the heavy, electric guitar-driven rock of the Great Apes towards the exploration of softer musical realms as a solo artist. The set also features heavy use of the Vapor Trail delay pedal from Seymour Duncan. Among the nine original songs here are some that were played with the Great Apes, but are re-envisioned for acoustic performance (most notably in the case of The Monkey Song and Geoleukocyte), as well as a song which had only just been written, The Rise of the Great Apes, in its rawest form. The last song, a cover of the Henry Mancini classic, Moon River, displays the predilection for the songwriting and chords of vocal jazz music, which he would go on to explore in depth with the Spooky Jazz Tribe.
